BOCA RATON, FL (November 18, 2009)—Steven L. Pomeranz Financial Management  has expanded its financial planning team with the appointment of John Carrig, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA® ) and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP® ) as Senior Investment Advisor. According to Steven L. Pomeranz, CFP and president of the firm, Carrig will be responsible for creating comprehensive financial planning solutions for new and existing clients.

 

Carrig has served in the financial services industry for more than 30 years in New York, London, and South Florida in various capacities, including equity and fixed income trading, investment banking and global investor services.  In addition to joining Steven L. Pomeranz Financial Management, Carrig founded and leads Gold Coast Financial Planning (GCFP), an independent financial planning and investment advisory firm in Boca Raton/Deerfield Beach, Florida since 2003. Prior to moving to Florida and establishing GCFP, he served corporate and public pension clients as a portfolio valuation analyst at JP Morgan Chase in New York.

 

Carrig is often quoted as an expert source in various publications, including, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, Money Magazine and AARP Bulletin; been a featured financial consultant in the Sun-Sentinel "Money Makeover" column, and a contributor to the book "Just Give Me The Answer$: Expert Advisors Address Your Most Pressing Financial Questions", published by Dearborn Press.  He is a member of the CFA Institute, Financial Planning Association (FPA), and CFA Society of South Florida (CFASF).

 

An avid environmental advocate, Carrig has served on the Broward County Land Preservation Advisory Board, and he and his wife, Joanne are active in the original "Save Our Beach, Inc”, a Deerfield Beach, not-for-profit organization, engaging in the education and promotion of orderly environmental management, conservation and preservation of the community's natural resources.
